About Katie Mae Hart

You and your dog are in good company.

With a certificate in training and counseling from the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, a BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland, and behavioral psychology coursework at Harvard University, Katie Mae is fully equipped to keep up with your energetic best friend.

Over the years and across the miles, Katie Mae has been actively involved in volunteer work. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, she joined the efforts of Noah’s Wish to direct staff and provide disaster relief to thousands of abandoned animals. As a puppy raiser with Guide Dogs for the Blind, she nurtured, socialized, and trained puppies for their future as guide dogs. As a vet staff assistant, she ensured safe, sanitary conditions for sick and injured animals at the Peninsula Humane Society in California, and at the Homeward Pet Adoption and Wildlife Rehabilitation Centers in Washington.

Katie Mae knows that dogs have a way of infusing your life with surprises. She also knows that simplifying the training process is the key to happy clients and well–trained dogs. By setting up opportunities for daily interaction, exercise, and obedience, Katie Mae helps her clients lead joyful lives with their family dogs.

Positively Effective Dog Training

When dogs learn that they can earn their favorite things in life—a yummy liver snap, a game of fetch, their favorite squeaky squirrel toy, a neighborhood walk, a chance to join you on the sofa—by performing sit, stay, or come, they pay close attention and they learn fast. At S.I.T! dog training, our positive reinforcement training methods are dog and people friendly, communicated by an experienced trainer, and based on science. We think Pavlov would be proud.
